Description:
This work explores the concept of digital information transformation in sonic language.
By using the recorded sounds of Google virtual assistant, electric movements and vibration from digital devices such as digital scanners, printers and computer screens, “This is binary. There is no half-way or in-between” invites the audiences into its world where information inputs are interpreted and adapted differently before “transforming” into various outputs.
The artwork is also inspired by the growing patterns of fungus as they seem to share certain similarities with process of digital information transformation. It is the diverse group of eukaryotic single-celled or multinucleate organisms that live by decomposing and absorbing organism in which they grow into molds or rust.
